Safety is a priority for most travelers. It is what may determine the success or failure of your travel experience to a foreign country. We in the State of Qatar take pride in providing a stress-free travel experience. We provide all visitors, whether individuals or groups alike, with peace of mind when touring the country.

1. A vision for security and safety

Social development is one of the four pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030, which focuses on building “a safe, secure, and stable society supported by effective institutions.” The vision of safety is deeply rooted in the country's development efforts. The State of Qatar seeks to promote tolerance, openness, and constructive social and cultural dialogue based on its Arab and Islamic principles.

2. Global rankings

The State of Qatar ensures the well-being of its citizens, residents, and visitors through its world-class public infrastructure, security measures, and public safety. The State of Qatar ranked first as “the safest country in the world” on the Numbeo Index, for the years 2021 and 2022, respectively. The Qatari capital, Doha, also ranked second as the safest city in the world for the year 2022. These achievements are evidence of the successful policies implemented by the country’s wise leadership in providing a stable, high-quality life in Qatar. As a result, visitors can visit landmarks and tourist sites in Qatar with a strong sense of security and safety.

3. Cleanliness

Visitors to Qatar can enjoy a worry-free travel experience, knowing that all hotels in Qatar are certified “Qatar Clean”. Qatar Tourism launched the “Clean Qatar” program during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health, to implement best practices in the field of hygiene and healthy habits. The protocols have since been implemented across the hospitality sector to include all tourism properties across the country. It will continue to be implemented after the Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring that the highest standards of safety and hygiene are maintained.
